I've had my SONY XG500 for over a month now. I wanted to replace a smaller Bluetooth speaker with more depth to the music I listen to. The SONY XG500 did that exceptionally well. I like to listen while working and this speaker is just awesome. Stays charged for a long time. Also has fun LED lights you can activate while you relax. It all can be controlled from an app on your smartphone. I've been pleased with all my SONY products. I I see something I want, I check to see if SONY makes it!

I’ve had this speaker a few weeks now and I wouldn’t go back. My husband always insists on another brand of speaker which we have all around the house but this speaker knocks spots off them. My two sons keep hijacking this speaker and I think secretly my husband agrees it sounds better. It was easy to set up (much easier than the other speakers) and looks great.

Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We regret that you are having some power/charging issues with your XG500 speaker. Make sure that the AC adaptor is connected securely to the speaker. Then, make sure that the AC adaptor and the AC power cord (mains lead) is connected securely to an AC outlet. If you haven't yet, we do have troubleshooting steps that may help resolve this issue.

If the speaker doesn't turn on even while charging the speaker, or trying a different USB cable, resetting the unit may also resolve the issue. Got it for my birthday, was in my wishlist for a while now. Chose this one cause of battery endurance, look, weight, capacity and price after comparing it with a lot of other similar boxes. It is worth it. Sounds good, Looks nice, app helps you make easy adjustments, also responds on connection via my smart watch which is nice during training sessions. And it has a nice price - not too expensive, and Sony for me has a good reputation for sound products. It is a big box, so do not under estimate its size, but if that is exactly what you are looking for, it is perfect.

This speaker is INCREDIBLE. You don’t even have to go full blast for you to feel the bass in every song. The battery life is fantastic as well. But… it is a big lad. I could definitely use it as a dumbbell for dumbbell rows and a few other exercises for a home workout so please bear that in mind (especially if you are carrying it to go somewhere as this is NOT fitting in a bag). I haven’t used the microphone feature YET but I do plan on doing so soon.

Toller Lautsprecher der bei uns täglich genutzt wird zum Radio hören. Toller Sound :) und Ausstattung! Okay, Gewichtsmäßig ist er kein Leichtgewicht, ist aber im Rahmen. Ich habe bisher den SRS-XB2 genutzt und hoffe das der XG 500 ohne Probleme lange hält.

Die Apps nutze ich kaum, da ich in Echtzeit Titel streamen möchte [Spotify]. Der LS wird im Party-Connect-Verbund mit einem Sony SRS-XP 700 benutzt - der Klang ist raumfüllender. Die Party-Connect-Funktion ist einfach zu erstellen

This speaker is heavy, solid and has a nice tone sound to it. The usb playback works well. The rest you really need the Sony music app. This enables you to listen via app integration to radio, audible, YouTube etc. Bluetooth to phone is good, but to things like using it as a soundbar, haven't managed to Bluetooth it for more than a few seconds to TV. This lets the product down. If it could be rectified with a software update will would get 5 stars. It might also be manufacturing company TV issue my other speaker doesn't stay connected either. Echos manage it extremely well!!

A Great Speaker that Replaced My JBL Boombox!

I had a JBL Boombox. Within two years, it stopped working by shutting down every ten minutes. I like to fall asleep listening to music. Getting up every ten minutes to tun the JBL became a pain. I already had a Bluetooth Sony-- a small speaker attached to my computer. I needed a wider bandwidth to reproduce the full spectrum of classical music, including the bass. I picked Sony. I have been using this speaker for six months now. It works beautifully, the Bluetooth pairs with my computer automatically, and even more important, the music is fantastic! The fidelity is excellent! The price is right.

2 hete van meg. A nagy konkurens B... 2 hangszórót akartam megvenni eredetileg. Üzletben sikerült azt kipróbálnom. Ezt a Sony hangszórót véletlenül vettem észre, nem is ismertem eddig ezt a típust. Ezt is kipróbálhattam, jobban tetszett ennek a hangzása, 5 perc hallgatás elég volt, hogy meggyőzzön, ezt választottam. Minden nap órákat hallgatom, most is ezt venném. Szép design, minőségi anyaghasználat, hosszú akku üzemidő.(tény :37óra) Normál hangerőn is erőteljes a basszusa. Negativum: A hangszóró erősítő részének van egy folyamatos alapzaja, ami teljesen lehallkítva jól kivehető. Egy ilyen kiváló márkánál furcsálom,hogy van alapzaj. Hallk zenehallgatásnál zavaró lehet.

Je recherchais une enceinte Bluetooth j´ai écouté JB...BOX et Marsh.... mais y avait pas Photo, le son et enveloppant et à du Médium. On est pas dans un schéma Bass-Aigu, mais Bass-Medium-Aigu. Avec une profondeur musicale absente des enceintes équivalentes du Marché. Encore une victoire de Sony, bravo Sony

Nouvelle venue dans la grande lignée d'enceintes blutooth, c'est le modèle qu'il manquait ni trop petite, ni trop grosse, elle propose les options habituelles de la marque (c'est à dire très complète), j'adore le design très réussi, quant au son, je pense qu'on a jamais atteint un tel niveau de clarté pour ce type d'enceintes, et un dynamisme vraiment impressionnant. Amateur de bon son et d'appareil nomade, la xg500 est faite pour vous ! En photo la comparaison avec la xb43.

Une enceinte portable ip66 avec une autonomie de 30h très simple d'utilisation. La connexion bluetooth se fait en un seul clic et l'enceinte est utilisable. Le son est puissant mais équilibré. Many "professional reviewers" have given so-so reviews of the XG500, so I almost didn't buy it, but my favorite Bluetooth speaker is the SRS-XB43 - and I just couldn't imagine that the XG500 would really disappoint. So after checking if the XG500 supported the stereo-pair function (it does!) I splurged and bought 2 of them! These speakers are made for bass lovers, the sound is so big and rich with Mega-amounts of bass, voices and other instruments are represented very well, even while the bass thumps. A very pleasant surprise is how easy these speakers are to listen too even at VERY high volumes. Sony tuned the highs to be smooth instead of brassy, that tuning can make the highs sound a little soft at low volumes, but app based adjustments for Bass, Mids, and Treble can be used to fine tune the sound, these adjustments makes noticeable changes to the sound but don't change the overall character of the sound. I am a certified speaker lover and I have several sets of Sony Bluetooth speakers, the XG500 takes all of the goodness of the SRS-XB43 and takes it to party level. It's a fun loud speaker that will put a smile on your face no matter what kind of music you prefer. The XG500 has played every genre of music that I have tried very well, including of course Dance and EDM, but also Rock, Smooth Jazz, Broadway/Show tunes, Country, Pop, R&B and even Bass heavy Rap and Hip Hop. Like the SRS-XB43, the XG500 is REALLY good at older R&B, Pop, and Rock from the early 80's and 90's. It makes you want to hear all your old favorites again! To say I'm happy with my purchase is an understatement, I love these speakers and I'm glad i followed my gut.

Very impressed by this portable speaker, connected to my phone straight away, the sound is extremely powerful but quiet if it needs to be, like the customisable light feature as well. Definitely would recommend.
