If you’re thinking about buying a camera DO NOT BUY A NIKON OR A CANON! Spend the extra money & get a Sony Alpha & you will not be disappointed. Die Kamera ist vom AF her auf ähnlichem Level wie eine A7C oder die erste A9, ohne die Ki Erkennung einer A7 IV. Vom Body her zwischen der A7 III und IV. Sie hat noch das alte Menü, aber das ist in Ordnung. Der Sucher ist sehr gut, das Display bescheiden, wurde ja in der A7R IVA verbessert. Bin froh, daß sie noch das Klappdisplay statt des Schwenkdisplays hat, komme damit besser zurecht. Leider nur absolut rudimentärer Touch, sehr schlecht. Das Bildrauschen ist relativ stark, aber die neuen Ki - Entrauscher (DxO PhotoLab 9 z. b.) entfernen das zuverlässig. Trotzdem ist bei mir bei ISO6400 Schluß und das reicht auch. Die Auflösung und die nötige Ki - Entrauschung bringen meinen Rechner an sein Limit, da muß ein Neuer her. Insgesamt bin ich zufrieden mit der Kamera. Sie wird als Auflösungsmonster neben meinen A7C und A7C II betrieben. Vielleicht wird sie einmal von der A7R V abgelöst, aber dank des unnötig anderen Akkus wird es bei mir nie eine 7R VI werden.

Bought the camera 1 day prior to my holiday in Venice, no settings done just shoot raw and think afterwards. The quality is unmatched! Its impossible how good it shows every colour and shape i've photographed, an amazing camera straight out the box ! Never looking back on my a7 iv, big big improvements overall.

I bought this camera and kept it for about eight days before returning it and losing a lot of money. Image stabilisation didn't seem to work until the shutter button was half pressed, queried this with Sony and they couldn't really explain. Was under the impression images could be transferred via Wi-Fi to a computer apparently this is not so. All in all, not a pleasant experience, I really do not know how Sony get away with making such poor cameras compare to say Canon.

Venant du Sony alpha 7 RM2, j'ai trouvé beaucoup d'améliorations dans ce modèle qui n'est pas tout récent: amélioration nette de l'autofocus, de l'écran et du viseur, enfin un blocage de la molette de décalage d'exposition, un déclencheur très doux. Cela dit, j'ai encore beaucoup à apprendre sur cet appareil, mais je ne regrette pas mon choix

I have been using this Sony camera for wildlife photography. With the 61 megapixel photo you can really crop into photos. I'm very disappointed in the video. Stabilization is terrible. You can only use it if it's on a tripod. There has only been one firmware update for this camera which is disappointing. I'm sure there are some things that could be fixed. It's sad that an expensive camera like this doesn't have an integrated way to add gps metadata. There's a convoluted way you can send photos thru a phone but with giant file sizes this is not very practical.

I only use Sony cameras. They are top class. I have two of this model and 2 x A7RV. People have said they find the menu daunting but I do not. The menu gives one so many choices. It has many features. You can set your own custom white balance for instance. The choices of lenses is outstanding. I shoot daily and have never had a problem. The 61mp sensor is fantastic. If you need to crop you don't have to worry about the resolution. The colours are excellent too. Ii takes two cards so one can be out all day shooting in RAW and not run out of recording space, depending on which cards you buy. I always get the best I can.

Purchased to supplement my A7R 111a, to help reduce the weight around my neck and shoulders from carrying my Nikon D850 for long periods. Delighted with the results, clean, sharp images, nice colours and saturation and amazing shadow recovery from Raw images. Love the responsiveness, focus speed and accuracy and appreciate the improved ergonomics over the mark 3.

I bought this camera as a second hand camera, though I suspect it was a demonstration model in mint condition. I ceased to be amazed at the quality of the images compared to my old a 99. I did find the camera a little small for my big hands, so added the adapter to it, making it easier to balance the lenses. The menus were a bit daunting at first but once I got used to them. As with the a 99. I now have no problem adjusting things as needed. Having used it for the last several months. I am well pleased. I made this choice.

J'ai acheté mon boitier en novembre dernier. Je poste seulement un avis avec un peu plus de recule sur l'utilisation. Je mets 4 étoiles car ils y a des choses qui ne me conviennent pas et j'aurais aimé qu'il existe un firmware plus récents qui corrige certains défauts qui ont été corrigés dans des boitiers plus récents. Le bruit numérique est excessif (90% des clichés sont à reprendre même parfois avec un ISO 100). Bien meilleur avec un A7RV. La colorimétrie est approximative surtout avec une balance des blancs automatique. Les menus du boitier sont confus. Le dernier firmware date de 05/2020. Autre gros soucis, à ce jour je n'ai qu'un objectif SEL2470GM2 que je n'enlève jamais et j'ai déjà plein de poussière sur le capteur????!!!. Cela étant un très bon autofocus et les 61Mpixels sont un plus. Il serait pertinent de sortir un nouveau firmware cela me permettrait d'ajouter une étoile

Great camera with high megapixels and veiwfinder

I recently ordered sony a7r4a, i wqs using pentax dslr camera for long periods of time and sony is really handy and i enjoyed the viewfinder and the focus. Multi sd card slos are really helpful, colour depth and details are awesome. Thank you Sony for making such a wonderful camera.

Die einzelnen Features des Menüs erfordern Vorkenntnisse, alles merken kann man sich definitiv nicht, so dass die Möglichkeiten, die die Kamera tatsächlich bietet, sicher erst nach und nach erschlossen werden können. Doch eines ist nach den ersten Fotos schon klar: Die Bildqualität ist überwältigend. Und dass, obwohl ich zurzeit nur 1 Objektiv habe mit Festbrennweite. Dennoch sind die Ergebnisse sichtbar besser als bei allen bisherigen APS-DSLRs. Einziges Manko: Der leider nicht schwenkbare (nur ausklappbare) Monitor.

Such a beautiful camera to use. I’m doing a lot of football photography and the images I’m getting are superb even in JPEG format. My only criticism is the menus are far too complex. I stick to aperture priority with ISO set to determine speed for the light available. Simoles

Les fonctionnalités nombreuses, le capteur 60mp, les qualités générales m'ont fait acheter cet appareil. Un gros point négatif c'est le menu. Alors que c'est appareil datant de 2021 coûte je pense assez cher, Sony ne le met pas à jour au niveau logiciel.

J'observe une perte de la qualité d'image en basse lumière avec une augmentation significative du grain à ISO 400 imposant d'augmenter les temps d'exposition et donc de shooter avec un trépied ce qui ne pose aucun souci pour de la photo d'architecture mais lors de la couverture d'évènement (en soirée notamment, à l'heure bleue et/ou à l'heure dorée par exemple, impossible de travailler convenablement sans flash) Sinon dans l'ensemble, produit de super qualité, idéal pour la photo d'extérieur (architecture, paysage, portrait), les 61 MP offre vraiment un rendu exceptionnel permettant d'aller plus loin dans certains travaux photographiques.

Habe 2 dieser Kameras seit Markteinführung im Einsatz, primär für Wildtierporträts (Fernbedienung). Aus meiner bisherigen Erfahrung eignet sich die A7R4 besser für Aufnahmen bei sehr guten bis guten Lichtverhältnissen und für Objekte, die sich nicht sehr schnell bewegen. Also eher für Studio- und Porträt- oder Produktfotografie. Bei sich schnell bewegenden Tieraufnahmen und Verschlusszeiten von 1/2000 oder 1/4000s ist das Bildrauschen vergleichsweise hoch. Daher bin ich zur Sony A1 gewechselt, sobald diese verfügbar war.

Excellent camera - my view after 2.5 years of use.

This camera is not, of course, now the latest model but I don't anticipate upgrading again just yet as the M4 version is adequate to my needs just now. Firstly, about the increased pixel count: Did I feel the need for 61MPx? No. But, now that I have it, I am happy to get the benefits. Lenses that were good enough for the 42MPx A7RIII have proved perfectly adequate for the greater pixel count camera. Also, the ability to crop more than before is used and enjoyed. I have not found any significant loss of dynamic range or per-pixel quality in the newer sensor. Here are some other aspects of the A7RIV that I really appreciate * Better screen than the A7RIIII - seems larger and with greater pixel count. * I love the My Menu facility which allows up to 30 selected items from the full menu across 5 'pages'. You can also set My Menu to appear first by default when you press the Menu button. I actually use this more than the Fn button, which I also like. * I also love being able to allocate three groups of settings to the 1, 2, 3 positions of the Mode dial. I have position 1 set for action photography with shutter speed pre-set to (say) 1/1000th, aperture to F/2.8, ISO on Auto, focus mode set to C, and focus area set to subject tracking. Position 3 is set up for manual focusing at 1/00th sec, F/4, ISO 320. I can, of course, alter these shooting parameters on-the-fly using the front and rear dials (which does not alter my pre-set values). By the way, subject tracking is really good in reasonable lighting and still useful in poor lighting. I have owned each of previous three version of the A7R and have welcomed the improvements with each model.

I bought this camera just over three weeks ago, it's a fantastic camera that has totally exceeded my expectations. I bought the camera to shoot a mix of urban landscapes, street photography and street portraits. The camera doesn't get in the way, it just facilitates the pictures I want to take. The audio focus in unbelievably good. The continuous focus with tracking is really handy when taking pictures on the street. And with camera set to Eye AF priority when the camera sees a face it just locks on and focuses on their eye. The tilt rear screen is excellent and is very useful for composing pictures on the fly when you don't want someone to notice that you're taking their picture. Throughly recommended.

Avec l'exigence du bon photographe, le α7R IV semble un bon appareil mais la latence entre l'affichage écran ou visuel au moment de la prise de vue ne lui permet pas d'être utilisé dans des conditions de basse lumière ou de rapidité de prise de vue. Je suis un peu déçu.

In the few weeks since purchasing my Sony A7R4a I believe the camera has enabled me to up my game as a professional photographic artist. Initially I wasn't sure I could afford the upgrade from my sony a7r2 but now I believe I couldn't afford not to. Since starting photography in 1996 I have used an Olympus, Cannon, Nikon and Fuji but my current camera is my favourite.

Acheté pour remplacer un A7R2 que j'avais aussi beaucoup apprécié, j'ai choisi ce A7R4 qui est semblable mais "tout en mieux" , Sony ayant visiblement beaucoup écouté ses clients. Excellent appareil à la définition permettant tous les recadrages possibles ( la fameuse poubelle en bas du cliché que l'on avait pas vu dans la précipitation...) et une ergonomie en net progrès. Pour moi l'appareil idéal même si certaines optiques restent chères, obligeant à faire appel au marché d'occasion. Superbe !

Amazing high resolution sensor, quality loo&feel

I won this in an ebay auction for a fair price. Coming from Canon 6D Mark II I use a Metabones adapter for my Canon lenses but find the autofocus is slow with respect to sports kind of photo's (dog running toward me, bird in flight). I recently got my Tamron 28-200 f/2.8-5.6 which is a great small and lightweight combination. High ISO produces a similar noisy image compared to my Canon but the noise reduction seems to work much better and the high resolution provides plenty of cropping or scale-down options. I love having dials for all variables of the exposure and customizable buttons, menu and quickmenu. Downside is the limited touch functionality, having to browse the many somewhat unsorted menu's for the options I need and the lack of a fully articulating screen especially when shooting low in portrait orientation. Also dust collecting on the sensor which is always exposed is annoying. This is all compared to the Canon I was used to for the past 5 years

Stunning image quality from a great camera

I upgraded from a A7R3 wanting the new design and grip and not really thinking about image quality. 42MP files were great from my old camera. Having used the new model now quite a lot I find the detail in the files fantastic along with the huge cropping ability very useful. The series 4 camera bodies from Sony are just fantastic whether you choose the R models or not. Well worth the upgrade.

The A7iv would be my first camera and I have second camera. I have taken the A7iv to basketball and I have got some good results, working with sport hall lighting is challenging and the fast action also requires quick focussing. The results are above expectations and I have some learning to do with the settings. I have also used on birds and with the long lens that images are fantatic in their clarity and detail which is helped with the 61mp sensor

Immer wenn man denkt, mehr geht nicht, macht SONY den nächsten Schritt nach vorn. Hervorragende Technik zum angemessenen Preis. Die Leistung des Fokussystems ist überwältigend. Das einzige was mir fehlt ist die Begrenzung das Autofokus-Bereiches wie es z. Bsp. bei der A99II möglich war. Wenn das über ein Firmware-Update nachrüstbar ist, sollte es hoffentlich noch kommen. Und sonst: Die Menüs sind angenehm übersichtlich und man kann seine eigenen Favoriten ablegen. Die Kamera macht einfach nur Freude!

Ich habe die Kamera für spezielle Einsatzzwecke gekauft und dabei arbeitet sie hervorragend. Perfekt wäre sie für mich, wenn Sony noch das Focus-Bracketing per Firmware-Update nachrüsten würde. Hier hat sich Sony lange so verhalten wie Scholz bei den Panzern für die Ukraine. Jetzt haben sie es zumindest bei der r5 eingebaut. Alle anderen Konkurrenten haben Focus-Bracketing schon länger eingeführt

Ich bin mit der Kamera und der Leistung dieser Kamera super zufrieden. Ich habe zwei davon. Für mich passt fast alles. Aber es gibt leider auch einen doch sehr unschönen Wehmutstropfen. (Oder zwei) Das Thema Updates. Das war ja auch vorher schon immer sehr umständlich gelöst, jedoch ist es wenn man einen Mac mit aktuellem Betriebssystem hat ziemlich unmöglich ein Update der Kamera durch zu führen. Es ist für mich nicht nachvollziehbar warum man das nicht wie bei den meisten anderen Herstellern lösen kann das man eine Karte mit dem Update einschiebt, irgendeine Tastenkombination drückt und es läuft. Und vom Support bekommt man leider auch keine Antwort. Sony ich hoffe ihr lest hier ab und an. Ihr macht so schöne Kameras und auch Objektive aber die Betreuung der Bestandskunden ist sehr ausbaufähig. Da ich die Kamera professionell einsetze brauche ich auch einen Hersteller der sich um seine Kunden kümmert. Zum Glück brauche ich euch ja nicht so oft, aber wenn möchte ich aufgehoben sein, und da habt ihr noch sehr viel zu lernen! Dieser Umstand lässt mich leider ab und an an meiner Entscheidung für Sony zweifeln. Und ich bin schon sehr lange Kunde bei euch.

Je suis passé à l'hybride grand format avec le ILCE-RM2 en 2017 , j'avais un Pentax K7 APSC . J'ai continué avec le ILCE-RM3 et depuis avril 2022 je suis possesseur d'un ILCE RMIV . Très satisfait de ce boitier avec 4 objectifs Sony : 55/1,8 ...70-300 ...16-35/F4...135-1,8 . J'ai découvert récemment à mon grand regret que mon boitier ne permet pas de réaliser des photos en surimpressions ou expositions multiples alors que les boitiers Canon et Nikon , y compris leurs nouveaux hybrides incluent cette possibilité . Je suis donc contraint de faire du post-traitement avec une perte de temps évidente . Pour moi c'est incompréhensible venant de Sony . J'aimerais connaître vos arguments
