If I only have room for one lens this my go to lens it's light, compact and sharp. The photo was shot at 105mm on an A9 in full auto settings. Sure you can buy a lens with a lower f stop but it will double the weight and triple the price and a maybe a fraction better quality???

I am a bit disappointed in this lens. It's slow to focus, it isn't as sharp as I expected for a 'G' lens and the manual zoom ring slips (auto zoom is slow for photography, but smooth for video). Also, my A6300 says the lens is not compatible with the Eye AF - Just underwhelmed

Très content de cet objectif. C'est vrai il consomme un peu de batterie mais quelles photos, couplé à mon A6700 c'est vraiment du TOP aussi bien en photo qu'en vidéo. Vraiment je ne regrette pas mon achat. Très beau bokeh, très beau flou, bref super ravi. Je recommande

Bestes Video-Objektiv für APS-C bei Tageslicht. Warum Tageslicht? Ganz einfach, weil 4.0 als kleinste Blende in dunkleren Umgebungen etwas problematisch ist. Aber die Vorteile wiegen diesen nachteilauf: Motorzoom: Gleichmäßiges Ein- und Auszoomen möglich. Gleichbleibende Objektivlänge: DER Vorteil beim Filmen mit Gimble. Ich hatte dieses Objektiv vor einigen Jahren verkauft und jetzt schmerzlich vermisst. Somit Neukauf.

I bought my first "adult" camera two (2) werks ago, while on a business trip in China. My choice was the Sony a6700 with the obvious lens choice for learning how to take good photos and not outgrowing the specific use, the Sony 18-105mm. This is a very versatile lens that offers great clarity at all focal lengths. Obviously it does not have the reach/zoom of the big boys, but its perfect for my current intended use. What a pleasure it has been working with this extremely capable lens. Great to be able to zoom into a subject,rather than completely repositioning oneself and still getting the perfect shot. I hope to save up for a bigger zoom lens in future, that would allow me to dive into the animal photography. To be able to zoom into the subject to get even more vivid / breathtaking shots.

Ich habe das objektiv gebraucht gekauft und habe damit nichts falsch gemacht. Ich benutze das Objektiv zum Filmen von kleinen Videos und ist mit der durchgehenden Blende 4 genau das was ich wollte. Kein Pumpen beim zoomen und dadurch eine saubere Aufnahme.

Das Objektiv hat ein Zoom mit stufenlos regulierbarer Geschwindigkeit, das ist perfekt zum filmen. Es hat Innenfokusierung, ebenfalls gut weil sich der Schwerpunkt nicht ändert. Die Verarbeitung ist hervorragend. Die Abbildungsleistung ist zum filmen absolut in Ordnung. Abgeblendet auch zum Fotografieren ok. Bei Offenblende im Weitwinkelbereich hat es leichte Randunschärfe, deshalb ein Stern Punktabzug. Alles in allem, kenne ich aber in dieser Preisklasse kein besseres Objektiv.

This is a good value lens from Sony. It competes well with the competition on features, image quality and even on price - yes a Sony lens at a good price and it is a G lens. The zoom and focus rings are a little light on turning - a bit more resistance would be nice but that is the only down side.

I bought this product about 4 weeks ago, the product build is very good. I am disappointed with the picture quality the results are slightly blurred. Assistance with AI gets the desired results. I shoot in the RAW format and after using AI it saves as a JPEG, which defeats the object of using the RAW format in the first place. I acknowledge the Lens is not expensive but at this price I would expect reasonable picture quality.

man hört keine Motoren was super ist, die Optische Leistung ist super damit kann man definitiv ein paar Deep Sky Objekte machen, der Power zoom hat Ordentlich durchzug was ein großer Vorteil bei 120 fps aufnahmen ist die man später mit 30 oder 24 fps abspielt. Nur der Manuelle Fokus ist nervig, wenn man zu langsam dreht reagiert er nicht, was beim fokussieren auf z.b. M45 bei 105mm f/4 zum Problem wird. und da die ZV-E10 die alten Sony Akkus hat muss man die öfters wechseln. in dem moment setzt sich das komplette Objektiv zurück und man fängt von vorne an, Fokus By Wire ist eine schöne idee, manchmal ist die alte Technik besser, hier müsste es nur eine option geben das man wirklich langsam drehen kann

I bought this a mont ago, but can't get used to the indirect delayed zoom. Also when i have digital zoom active as an quick option, the zoom on this lens just proceeds digital after 105 m. Further more for crispy photo's you always need to stop 1 down, else images are liveless and look unsharp with little contrast. So bought second hand 16-70 f4, and the 28-105 F4 is for sale.

Theres a lot packed into this lens! First, the zoom range is amazing and covers pretty much everything I would want in one lens for handheld use. The OSS helps keeps things steady and the power zoom is great for video work, especially when paired with a camera with a zoom switch like the FX30. It's small and light for such a varied focal length but the metal build stops it from feeling cheap. The zoom is internal which I definitely prefer over extending barrels with the zoom and focus rings being nicely dampened and smooth to use. Constant F4 aperture is a god send as I don't really like variable aperture zooms, fair enough if it's f2 to 2.8 like the tamron 35mm-150mm but not something naff like F4 to 7.1 (I'm looking at you canon!) Lastly, image quality and I have to say I'm pretty impressed here too! I wasn't expected too much but I'v managed to get some truly beautiful shots with this and the F30, enough to make both clients and myself happy. I use this for video work so keep that in mind if you are planning for photography but at this pice you really cant go wrong if you are looking for a nice 'all in one lens'

Sehr tolles Objektiv. Deckt eine optimale Brennweite ab. Für die Alpha Kameras mit APS-C Sensor sehr gut geeignet. Für Vollformat gibt es das 24-105er FE, welches ebenfalls perfekt ist.

I had my eye on this lens for a while and last month I decided to get it. Before this i was using the kit lens and boy is this a vast improvement. The range is perfect for every day shooting, from portraits (mostly of pets for me) to breathtaking landscapes. This lens can do it all. With a constant f4 aperture, the foreground remains sharp while zooming in and out.

Much better focal length range than standard length and amazed with the apature being constant F4 through out focal length. Picture very clear and sharp. Only small drawback is the shadow of the lens if the in built camera flash is used.

Praktisches Objektiv an der ZV-E10

Die Kombination aus diesem Objektiv zusammen mit der Sony ZV-E10 passt für fast alle Gelegenheiten. Speziell wenn man mit nur kleinem Gepäck unterwegs sein möchte ist man mit diesem Zoom bestens ausgestattet. Mit der gegebenen LIchtstärke hat ma für die meisten Situationen genügend Spielraum in der Gestaltung. Speziell abends und in der Nacht bei schlechter Beleuchtung sollte man natürlich zu einer anderen Optik greifen um mehr Möglichkeiten für die Belichtung zu haben. Mit der Schärfe der Bilder bin ich zufrieden. Ich habe das Objektiv sogar öfters an der Sony a7III in Gebrauch, was eine handliche Kombination ergibt, natürlich mit einer Beschränkung des Bildkreises.

Fazit: ein gutes Objektiv!

Ich verwende das SELP18105G an meiner Sony Alpha 6000. Da ich es erst vor wenigen Wochen erworben habe, konnte ich bisher nur ca. 50 Bilder damit aufnehmen. Doch diese sind okay. Die Schärfe in der Bildmitte ist ausgezeichnet, fällt aber zum Rand hin sichtlich ab, besonders bei Offenblende. Mit weiter geschlossenen Blenden ist das nicht mehr auffällig. Der Autofokus ist zwar nicht der schnellste, aber für überwiegend Landschaftsaufnahmen brauche ich keinen schnelleren Autofokus. Sehr positiv ist die zuverlässige Arbeit des Autofokus! Davon bin ich begeistert! Ich bin insgesamt sehr zufrieden mit der Leistungsfähigkeit des SELP18105G.

Ich hatte bisher für meine Sony A6000 das Standard-Kit-Objektiv. Da dieses mir im Urlaub kaputt gegangen ist musste schnell Ersatz her. Ich bin mit diesem Objektiv absolut mehr als zufrieden. Ich habe sofort einen Bildqualitätsunterschied gemerkt. Nur zu empfehlen. Allerdings muss einem bewusst sein, dass das Objektiv ein bisschen größer und schwerer ist als Standard-Objektiv.

Looks the part, but mine was faulty

Initial reaction was favourable. Excellent speed and accuracy of focus and crisp image, but, and it's a massive one, there was intermittent issue causing selective vignetting to top left corner of frame only. All apertures, at any short focal length. Like something was sticking. Returned it. Not going to risk another. Disappointing qc. Will probably stick with kit lens on my a6000, and carry on lugging a DSLR for anything beyond that.

We're sorry to hear that you've had to return the lens due to facing vignetting while using it.
While using this lens with your A6000, the [Lens Comp.: Distortion] setting will be set to "Auto". Which should reduce vignetting.
Also, when using the lens, the corners of the screen become darker, than the centre. To reduce this phenomena, close the aperture by 1 to 2 stops.

Ich benutze es seit einigen Jahren mit meiner Alpha 6000 und bin immer noch überrascht von den Ergebnissen. Es enthält eine wirklich vielseitige Kombination von Zoom. Man kann Details aus der Ferne erkennen, fast "Makro"-Aufnahmen machen und es hat genug Weitwinkel, um eine große Familie aufzunehmen. Und glauben Sie mir - sogar gute Selfies sind möglich - wenn Sie es schaffen, die Kamera in 1 m Entfernung zu halten... Ja, es ist nicht leicht und nicht einfach zu tragen - aber das ist der Nachteil von Zoomobjektiven. Die Blendenöffnung lässt genug Licht bei vollem Zoom zu, aber meine Alpha 6000 zeigt schon bei ISO 3200 zu viel Rauschen - was sich verbessern lässt, wenn man aus dem Automatikmodus herauskommt. Der Autofokus ist auch etwas langsam, aber das kann auch mit der Alpha 6000 zusammenhängen und nicht mit dem Objektiv selbst. Ein schönes, robustes und vielseitiges Objektiv, wenn man sich nicht daran stört, für eine kleine APS-C-Kamera etwas viel und schwer zu tragen. Es ist schade, dass der Preis in den letzten zwei Jahren ziemlich gestiegen ist.

Ich habe dieses Objektiv gekauft um damit Videos mit hoher Bildqualität zu filmen. Deshalb wollte ich ein Objektiv mit elektrischen Zoom. Ich nutzte das Objektiv mit meiner Alpha 5100. Das ist ein sehr schönes Setup. Leider kann der Zoom am Regler von der Alpha 5100 nur sehr sehr langsam bedient werden. Eine höhere oder einstellbare Zoomgeschwindigkeit wäre hier notwendig. Wird es hier für das Objektiv noch ein Firmware Update geben? Mit der aktuellen Firmware ist das Objektiv zum Filmen mit elektrischen Zoom leider nicht nutzbar.

A great all round lens

We've owned it less than a year, and it is a very nice versatile lens, build quality as with anything could be a little better as ours developed a fault after 8 months of usage - which appears to be a common issue where the lens does not focus when the camera is pointed downwards and then turned on.

Das ist für meine Sony a6000 das beste "Immerdrauf"! Da bin ich im Urlaub usw. für 90 % aller fotografischen Herausforderungen gerüstet. Das Objektiv macht die kleine Kamera allerdings recht groß. Das finde ich jetzt gar nicht so schlecht. Ich finde, die Optik macht dann richtig was her!

Great general purpose lens

I bought this lens used from a well-known auction site shortly after purchasing my a6100. It was the first lens I bought (not counting the kit lens) and it has been onoe of my most-used lenses ever since. It is easily sharp enough for the 24Mp sensor in my a6400 (I upgraded) and the zoom range is perfect for casual photography. It focuses nice and close, allowing some lovely shots of flowers and the like, and of course at the wide end it is useful for landscape or street photography. The only downside is the bulk, it is big and heavy for what it does, but not so much as to be uncomfortable to carry.

Constant f4 is cool, but the moto zoom not so much

It is a nice lens all in all, but f4 is a bit too small for indoor, and the moto zoom is not easy to operate - sliding it causes movement. Why not buttons? Or why not use a camera menu to zoom? Also, using a remote control is not that convenient either. Eventually, I sold mine and replaced it with 18-135mm, which I am happy with it. Sony recently added a f2.8 zoom, but the price! Come on.

J'ai acheté cet objectif après avoir eu pendant un an un 70-200/f4. Ayant fait le constat que je ne sortais cet objectif qu’exceptionnellement, car trop lourd trop encombrant pour l'avoir à demeure dans mon sac. J'ai opté pour la version plus légère et adapté à l'aps-c le 70-350. Certes on perd en luminosité mais la capacité du boitier a6600 a monter dans les iso relativise cet inconvénient. Mais étant plus léger moins encombrant il fait partie de mon sac en permanence. Et il a de nombreux atout, une qualité optique indéniable à toutes les focales, un AF ultra rapide

Auf der Suche nach ein Objektiv für alle Situationen habe ich dieses hier nach mehreren Reviews gefunden und finde, dass es wirklich in jeder Situation das notwendige liefert. mit einer Brennweite von 4.0 ist es nicht das Bokeh reichste für Videos aber es deckt das gesamte Spektrum was man für Videos neben einer 35mm oder 50mm braucht.

J'ai pris une photo en focale 105mm (zoom) d'un paysage de ville, sans trépied, à travers une vitre fumée de l'hotel. Au loin, très loin, de vieux pneux entassés. UN pneu occupe à peine 1mm2 dans l'image sur l'écran de l'appareil. J'aggrandis ce pneu : et surprise : je vois les rainures du pneu. Ma Conclusion : excellent objectif, excellent stabilisateur.

Die Brennweite ist als Immer drauf-Objektiv ideal, die optische Qualität ist im Normal bis Tele sehr gut. Im Weitwinkel Bereich habe ich den Eindruck, dass die Auflösung und Grundschärfe etwas schlechter ist. Bin aber auch Vollformatverwöhnt. Aber das ist bei dem großen Brennweitenbereich normal. Ist auch auf sehr hohem Niveau gesprochen. Die Optik ist sehr robust und gut haptisch. Bis jetzt gefällt mir das Objektiv sehr gut. Klare Kaufempfehlungen!

Das Objektiv hat mich mit seiner Innenfocussierung sofort begeistert. Es trägt nicht sehr auf, hat mit Blende 4 rundum eine gute Startleistung und eine gute Bildqualität. Und - es hat einen kleinen Unfall überlebt, als es mir mit der Kamera zusammen in einem unbedachten Moment aus der Hand gesprungen ist und auf dem Kopfsteinpflaster hart gelandet ist.

I am working on a ski photography project, and this proved the perfect lens for my effort: just the right range with my APS-C camera (a6400), a single package that fits well in my hands and fits with the small camera in a small waist pack. However, after just a few months, my camera will no longer recognize the lens. I sent it to warranty repair with Precision Camera Repair, and after nearly two weeks (twice as long as promised), they have asked for the camera, since they claim they can't replicate the problem. It works fine with other lenses, and I've now had to send the camera and kit lens to them, shutting me down with this system. Fortunately, my Canon cameras still work.

Nach ca. 2 Wochen und mehreren hundert Aufnahmen: Durchgehende Blende 4 - Gut. Zoomen per Zoomring - Sehr nervig von 18mm auf 105mm. Nach jedem Einschalten der Kamera (a6000) Brennweite bei 18mm. Nervt! Autofocus sehr schnell, jedoch öfter unpräzise. Egal in welchem AF-Modus, außer MF. Kein AF-MF-Schalter. Bleibt nur DMF-Modus. Streulichtblende erfreulicherweise standardmäßiges Zubehör. Obektiv fährt beim Zoomen nicht aus. - Gut! Für den Preis ist das Objektiv zu empfehlen.

c'est le second que j'achète. Il n'est pas parfait, je déteste le zoom électronique qui fait un peu de bruit, a une latence et ne dispose d'aucun marquage sur le fut... Mais le powerzoom reste quand même une fonction interessante quand il est placé sur un gimbal et controlé par la poignée. La stabilisation est efficace. Ouverture constante qui m'est indispensable. qualité d'image convenable. La focale est vraiment pratique et sans équivalent sur plein format (équivalent 157mm au plus long). Le SEL24105G est vraiment bien. Ne va pas jusqu'a 157 et sans PZ mais avec marquage sur le fut et le bouton programmable.... budget 4x plus cher ça fait réfléchir. ... La mise au point mini est parfois un peu gênante mais pour mon usage ça reste quand même l'optique la plus pratique et la plus vite rentabilisée
