Hi Adam,

The FZ38M is one of the models that Sony acknowledge is affected by the Nvidia chip problem. If this is indeed the problem then it will be repaired free of charge within 4 years of purchase. This particular fault does require a motherboard replacement.

If your notebook is less than four years old then call Support on the out of warranty number for your region to arrange a repair.
