My RDR-HXD90 with firmware 1.24 now loses the new BBC1 MUX after stage 1 of the DSO, stage 2 is on 27th June. On a re-tune it finds all the channels but if put into standby it will lose the new BBC1 MUX. This did not happen pre DSO stage 1. Also I live on the E Kent coast and cloe to France so it also gets confused and selects some French stations in preference to some UK stations. UK transmitter is Dover.

Has anyone else seen anything like this post DSO or any suggestions to fix it?

have a look at similar posts regading re-tuning of RDR HXD devices. You have to reset it, unplug it from power and than re-tune it. You'll find that after the procedure it will keep the tuning.

Thanks for the update....

Subsequent to my posting I did find this suggestion, however before I know it works I'll have to wait overnight as simply powering it down during the day does not seem to lose anything. It is strange however that until the DSO stage 1 it would retune perfectly and has only started to lose the BBC1 MUX since DSO this week, nothing else! The 1.24 firmware was loaded a few weeks ago to see if it fixed another issue (which it did not and is outstanding with Sony)

This solution has seemed to work as this morning the BBC1 MUX is still working. It also seemed to sort out the France channels properly as well. However I'm not convinced that I should have to do a factory reset prior to every retune so I'm leaving open my question with Sony to see what response I get from them as I think there is something there needing fixing. I'll update this thread when my query with Sony support is resolved.

You don't have to do a reset every time you want to retune the recorder, just in case such this one (retune lost when you power off) or if you find your recorder stuck forever with "UPDATE" on the display.
It's definitevely a bug in the firmware, but if you expect Sony to fix it ... good luck! This firmware was issued on december 2009 after finding out that all the machine were not working anymore with the DSO in Italy. They were even faster than Pioneer (the real manufacturer) to fix it, but after that there was nothing more (i.e. to fix also the Guideplus issue) and in the meantime Sony (at least in Europe) didn't market any new development/product in this area.
