    welcome to Questions & Answers..

     

    Do you have the Vaio which the serial number belongs to.?

     

    If so you should be able to locate the model number on the bottom right of the screen surround..

    If only it was that simple ... no model number printed on the screen bezel.

    Hi 555guy,

     

    Assuming that the machine is working then the model name should be listed in both Vaio Control Center (under system information) and the BIOS.

    I don't suppose you'd know where to get a service manual for it ? its a VGN-AR71J ??? I need to replace the VGA cable but can't figure out how to removed the old one ???

    Due to this being a Sony forum I'm not allowed to post a guide, however if you google for vgn-AR.pdf you may be lucky enough to find a link..
