Hi, i`m new to this wireless networking,

So am i right in thinking that as they are both unsecured I should be able to connect to BtOpenzone-h or BTFON or do i have to register/subscribe in some way ? It showes i`m connected but  the other screen shots say no internet access. IPV4/IPV6 conectivity no internet access.

Thanks for any comments

Kim

Hi. BtOpenzone-h or BTFON, is that your own wireless router or someone else's?

This means that you are connect to the wireless router but the wireless router is not connected to the internet. https://imagicon.info/cat/12-13/vmware_happy.gif

    Hi kimbo321,

BtOpenzone-h or BTFON require a subscription in order to be able to access the internet (approx. £6.00 a month).

If you need connectivity when mobile then a USB MiFi 3G dongle may be the answer. Cost depends on network provider and usage allowance.

    Ok thanks,

If I go into a cafe near me that says "free wifi internet access" will i need a dongle or will they give me a password to access it?

No dongle will be required, you should be able to connect via wi-fi. Usually no password is required when connecting to a free wifi access point, but the proprietor willl provide it if necessary.
