Laptop vgn fz21e ran auto updates of rapport. Laptop is now stuck on configuring updates stage 3 at 0% complete. Whole screen is stuck on this and laptop cannot be accessed. How can i clear this?

motion detection ip camera

The new ip cameras have motion detection on board (snr-ER521 , snc-DH180, etc). The motion that is detected is presented by a box. For example the webinterface uses these blocks;

To get the boxes you can open stream http://ip-addr/metadata.cgi?package=obj

These is a binary stream containing the boxes and some other unknown information. Is there somewhere information about the structure of this stream?

I am a professional wedding photographer whom has stuck with Sony for years. My competitors all use Nikon / Canon cameras, I think I am the only Sony wedding photographer out there!

I post on many photography forums and from what I read the Canon and Nikon repairs process is easy to use and gives an excellent service.

So, I was expecting a similar experience when I sent my HVL-F42AM back to your repairs facility in Wales. Job Number 690674. I'd had the flashgun mounted on a lightstand which the wind had blown over and the small plastic mount on the bottom of the device had snapped. Completely my fault, it's out of warranty so I am happy to pay whatever it takes (rather than paying £150 for a new one). It's literally a plastic clip that needs to be replaced.....

I sent it to you special delivery and received a text the day after saying that you'd received it. Great!

A couple of hours later though, I get a text message asking me to call a number quoting the above job number. I ring and speak to one of your customer service representatives. She tells me that you're not able to repair it as it is out of warranty. I explain that I already put on the paperwork that it is out of warranty and I am more than willing to pay for the repair, but then I'm told that regardless, they aren't able to repair it and will return it to me or dispose of it.

What do I do now? Buy a new one? Nope! If this was a Canon or Nikon product it would be having the part replaced. How do you expect to keep up with the 2 market leaders if you don't even have a proper repair facility? I've spent over £6000 on Sony bodies and lenses. I'm now dreading the day when one of my more expensive products gets damaged. Do I just buy a new one of those too? When my 70-200 2.8 G goes, should I just pay £1,300 for a new one? When my A850 or A99 goes, should I just spend £2k on a new one? I'm unfortunately not made of money nor do I own a magical money tree.

I was prepared to stick with Sony as I love the vibrant colours, the feel of the bodies and the camera function layouts but this is absolutely terrible service. For such a huge company (bigger than both Nikon and Canon) your repairs process is absolutely terrible. I certainly won't be buying anymore Sony camera products.

Deleting Avchd movies from RX100

I note that Avchd movies are stored in a Private directory with a database. Playmemories will not delete the movies, and I'm told to do so manually in the camera.

I don't want to do this (especially if there are a lot of clips), and apart from formatting the media, it seems to work OK to delete the Private folder from the computer end. When restarting the camera, it moans about recreating the db, but everything seems to work.

Is this an OK way to do things?

also in ns set up, even when the speaker are playing music from my iphone the computer says it cannot find the speaker make sure its on etc

Drivers for VCR (SLV-SE230G)?

Hello

I am trying to convert my old VHS tapes to DVD via my PC tower (Win 7).

To do this I need to connect my old VCR (SLV-SE230G) to my PC.

However, I don't seem to be able to locate the drivers for this hardware and when I connect the device, Windows does not look for the appropriate drivers, either.

Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

Hi there, just bought a Sonnet Tech Echo PRO ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adaptor for my iMac running OSX 10.7.5. Works perfectly fine with all my SXS PRO cards (8Gb through to 32GB in size), but does not recognise my MEAD MS01 Memory Stick Adaptor with a 32GB MemoryStick PRO-HG Duo card inserted (just simply does not recognise the MEAD MS01 at all.)

I've searched everywhere for the updated drivers, and have installed everything, but no joy.

Can anyone help?

I used a blank DVD Blu Ray to 'Create a System Image' on Windows 8 64bit laptop with Blu Ray. Refusal of the system with the message: "The digital media is not recognized. It may not be formatted."
But here too, the system refused formatting the message: Disk write protected. Your help is welcome

Sometimes my recorder does not record the whole of a program I have set up from the EPG. The ones in question were not delayed transmissions and did not overlap with any other recording set up. Can anyone explain?

I have recorded a number of files on the Digital Voice Recorder, at the moment there are 63 in the folder. I changed the batteries, then recorded three more files. These do not appear in the folder, and I can't find them on the recorder. Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Help! I have a SatNav NV-U53. The problem is that when I touch the touch screen to enter data the data does not go to the field that i am touching..it goes to the one above.

I have tried using a pen and a pointer but that does not work.

Does the screen need regulating if thats the word?

Hi, my ICD AX412 voice recorder records fine to the internal memory but when i insert a micro-sd card it only records the last 20 seconds and then keeps on repeating this until it turns off. What is wrong? Thanks

Hi guys,

I have been trying to install sony vegas movie studio HD platinum 10 for a couple of days now! It won't work, when i click install nothing happens, i go into task manager and click on sony creative software and it loads up a white screen.

I then end task and it says sony windows installer preloader is not working... searches for a solution and nothing happens.

I have been trying to install from a legal disc, no crack or download.. i am using a laptop, windows 7 premium and my friend has the same OS and sony vegas installed without problems.

I really need this software installed, please help!

Hello. I recently changed my Windows XP for a Windows 7 64-bit PC. Now my Sony ICD-SX46 digital recorder is incompatible with the SX-Series recorder's software, Digital Voice Editor 2.2. I contacted Sony and they sent me a link to download the software version 3.3.01. This is also lncompatible with my SX Series device. It apparently works with AX and PX-series machines. Sony's download information says SX series will not work with XP 64-bit, but my system is Windows 7, not XP. See attached screenshots. Can anyone help please?

LOSS OF BBC iPLAYER ON NSZ-GS7 Internet player

I purchased a NSZ-GS7 internet player following a demonstration in a local electrical shop who are Sony agents. BBCiPlayer was demonstated.

I set up the internet player at home and was able to receive BBCiPlayer and watched many programmes through this media.

Recently a message that the internet player does not support BBC i Player has appeared on the screen when I try to access BBC iPlayer.

Discussion from Sony support tell me that the internet player was never set up to access BBC Iplayer.

I went back to the shop I bought it from and they are running BBCiPlayer on their demonstation unit.

Anyone got any ideas ?? The internet player is not very useful without BBCiPlayer

I wonder if there is a contractual issue and after an automatic upgrade on the Google Chrome ???

Hi, this is my first posting so hope someone can help.

My voice recorder records over itself and does this over all the recordings so basically wiping out all the previous recordings with whatever has been done last. This seems to only happen with the setting for memory card not built-in. Only the last few seconds are recorded even though it works for much longer. So it records this few seconds and then keeps on replaying it.

I must have pressed something but don't know what.

Help!

I am looking to use the ICD-LX30 in a medical environment, recording notes during a shift.

At shift changeover, I would them like to be able to playback those notes to the staff taking over.

Howver, the environment is not the quietest and I am concerned that the volume is not loud enough.

Is there a speaker docking unit suitable for the ICD-LX30?

Or has someone used another Sony product for this type of application?
