BDV-E880 subtitle problem

Hello,

i have Sony BVD-E880 Home Cinema System,

but when i play .mkv file from usb hdd i dont have a subtitle

need to burn in on .mkv file ,

other i play a Blu Ray AVC mkv with integrated subtitles in original pgs but subtitles never show

do u anybody know a salution for this question ?

how to play .mkv with external file subtitles ?

BDV-E190 sound intermitently not linking with tv

I bought a BDV-E190 to go with my bravia led tv to get better sound. Every now and again it will not output sound from the tv via hdmi cable. The on screen message says"Audio system active" and "connection to external speakers" but no sound. I then have too keep turning the BDV-E190 on and off until it connects. Sometimes I will have to do it 10 times... Any body else had this prob.. I have checked all the settings and they are all correct.

Hi,

I've got the STR-DH520 Home cinema AV receiver a week or so ago.

I've got a couple of HDMI input devices connected to it, like my Playstation 3 where the sound and the video both goes through the HDMI cable, this works great.

I've also got my computers video connected via HDMI, but obviously the computers audio can't go through the video card, so i've got a normal analog going from my PC sound card to the AV receiver analog audio input.

My problem is now that whenever I select the PC on my AV receiver, it shows the video from the PC, but the audio from the PC doesn't work.

Any suggestions on this please?

I have a Sony Wega KDE P37XS1 Flatscreen TV and I was wondering if there is any way to connect my laptop to it so I can effectively view my laptop on the TV...?

If so, can someone tell me what connector I would need to purchase please?

My new unit is dropping audio intermittently :

1. OPT input - Assigned to HDMI to input internet TV and iTunes music from computer. Drops audio for a split second randomly with an interval between 2 and 6 minutes.

2. COAX input - Movies from a Cyclone Micro 2+ Drops audio for a second random intervals

Both these input setups have been used for a long time without problems on my old Sony DAV s550 system.

Do you think I have a faulty unit or have I missed something on setup.

KDL-46W905A and STR-DN1030 How to turn off Automatic sound field selection

I have the STR-DN1030 connected via HDMI1 to KDL-46W905A I want to use my TV remote (and sky) to adjust the sound this works with Bravia sync (and "ctrl for HDMI=ON" on the AV Receiver) but when I enable this feature it also enables the "optimum sound field for the selected scene" (in Sony opinion).Witch changes the sound field on my AVR every time I change an input on my AVR or change scene on my TV.

On most of the time all inputs are on Scene= "Cinema" and I want to use sound field= "pro logic II movie" but the Bravia Sync changes to "HD-D.C.S." witch sound awful (loads of echo) so every time I turn on my TV, switch input on AVR or Change Scene I have to change it back very annoying.

I have searched high and low in both manuals and on the menus for TV and AVR. Also I have looked the TV App "Home Theatre Control". I know I can turn off "Ctrl for HDMI"

Can you turn off the Automatic sound field selection without losing the volume control and other HDMI control functions? or change the assignment?

On the plus the "home theater contol" app and bravia sync features are great. just this really anoying bug that comes with this feature.

BDV-E870: surround sound not working?

When I run my BDV-E870 in setup mode with the microphone, audio appears from all six speakers, so connectivity is all working.

When I listen to any playback though, be it DVD/Blueray, Bravia TV or BT Vision box, I only get sound from the front left and right speakers, and no others.

I suspect some set-up parameter somewhere has become mis-set, but can't find anything that changes the situation.

Can anyone provide any suggestions?

Hi, I've obviously pressed something I shouldn't have!!! Now I've got voices telling me what is happening on screen when there is no dialogue. HELP it's driving me mad LOL (I'm guessing this is a service meant for visually impaired viewers?) Please can someone tell me how to switch it off??

Hi all,

I just bought a BDV-E190 and am not satisfied with the sound quality. Voices are very low and less clear compared to TV internal speakers.

Is there any way to adjust the sound beyond the presets (e.g. cinema, sports), like an equalizer or a custom sound mode, where treble could be adjusted?

How do I connect my Bravia KDL42W805ABU to DAV-S888?

My new Bravia KDL42W8 doesn't have an S Video scart socket, so I am not sure how to connect the DAV-S888 compact AV system. Connecting with the Scart socket just gives a black/white picture. Do I need to get some component out jacks?

Hi, I have got a Sony STR-DH820 AVR, a Sony BDP S370 BD player, Sony Bravia KDL46EX713 TV and a Humax Freesat HDR and Harman/Kardon 5.1 speaker system. All devices are connected to the AVR via HDMI 1.4a ver cables, I have no fibre optic cable connected. For a year now, everything has been excellent with HD video and Dolby/DTS sound with the different versions automatically selected by the AVR.

Even when standard TV signal is broadcast in Dolby 5.1, the AVR picks this up through the HDMI cable.

Just recently though, I was streaming music videos from my pc through the BD player and the info on the file playing was DTS NEO 6 soundtrack but my AVR was only receiving a LPCM signal.

This has made me think, should I have a fibre optic cable connecting my BD player to the AVR and also one from the AVR to my TV?

This has not been a problem before as I earlier stated that I can enjoy True Dolby HD sound through any of the connected HDMI's.

Could this just be a bad file where the DTS NEO 6 soundtrack has been lost in the conversion to avi format and been replaced by LCPM soundtrack?

Any help in this matter would be gratefully appreciated.

I've just got my hands on the STR-DH510. It's a great looking piece of kit.

I am trying to connect my Playstation3 and SKY HD box through the HDMI of the STR-DH510. I am connecting to a Toshiba LCD HD TV. Plugging the PS3 and SKY box directly into the TV works fine. I don't get anything on the TV display if I try to run it all through the STR-DH510 using the same cables. I have tried it in all 3 HDMI ports on the TV to no avail. Is there somewhere that I can select the input to be HDMI for the BD and SAT/CAT inputs? I've read the manual from cover to cover three times and have not missed anything in the setup.

BDV-N9100W set with AV receiver

I am making my new home theater and I am going with an 7.2 AV reciever. When i was looking for speaker choices I a was impressed with the design (and hope performance like other sony speakers) of the BDV-N9100W set. Is there any way of getting only the speakers of the BDV-N9100W + the rear speakers of BDV-N8100W + extra woofer for a full 7.2 set?

The reason I am going for a AV reciever and not just BDV-N9100W is so i can connect all my devices on it and because i don't wan't to downgrade to 5.1 after 9 years of my gigaworks 7.1.

Also is there any reason why this setup is not good?

Sony STR-DN1030 Network Menu Not coming

Hi All,

I am new member to this forum. I recently purchased sony STR-DN1030. I am using the receivers display for menu and put off GUI menu mode. But the problem is whenever I go to menu, I can see all the menu's except Network menu (i.e. from HDMI next is System not Network). Can anyone help How I will find it on receivers display?? Is there any thing required from setting perspective. Another thing is when I connected the wired LAN it is working in home network mode and also I got the "Update" notification. Note: I don't have TV for few days so using gui mode.

I want to update the framework but I am not able to do with this. I tried reset also. It is not helping me. Waiting for your answers.

Airplay volume on str dn 1030

Anyone had experinces of very loud playback via airplay on the 1030

I literally cannot go above about 7 on the volume on my amp

very small increments on the volume control both on iphone and ipad gives huge increase in output

Also applies when using volume control via the amp

Concern is that someone connecting with music set to half way on there device will literally blow the speakers

I have created a Data DVD (16x R+) with 3 DivX files. My DAV-DZ660 plays the viedeos without problems but it will not play the end of the files ? Instead it jumps to the next video.The files DOES include the end of the films since they can be played on a PC.

The amp DOES play normal DVD films an I am fully satiesfied...but it't a bit strange that onlyu the DivX files cant be played in their full lenght.Sony DK support has asked my to try to reset to factory settings. I have tried that - but no luck :

Can anyone tell me how to connect the dock supplied along with the Sony bdv NF720 home theatre to Sony Bravia tv.i can get the music to play from my I phone but can't get any photos or videos to play from it to the tv.1 lead that plugs into the dock and is supposed to go into the video in port on the tv. It doesn't seem to fit any of the connections on the back of the tv.The TV is a Bravia kdl 40s3000

BDV-N790W - Centre Speaker Issues

Hi,

I have the BDV-N790W. My centre speaker doesn't work on either TV or blu-ray.
When I go into sound settings to test/calibrate all the speakers - the centre speaker works perfectly along with the 2xfront speakers and 2xrear wireless speakers and subwoofer....but the centre speaker won't work after that.
I have tried a few blu-rays (that have a proper 5.1 soundtrack)and made sure I have selected the 5.1/7.1 soundtrack but still no sound through the centre speaker.

Has anyone experienced this or could offer me any tips or settings to try?

Bravia remote to manage HT-CT260

Hi, I have recently installed a HT-CT260 sound bar for my Bravia KDL-40HX750 and it works well using the optical cable. I have disabled the TV speakers to allow the sound solely through the HT sound bar. I would like to be able to use the sound functions on the Bravia remote (RM-ED047) to manage the sound on the HT-CT260. However, the only volume function it now supports is the headphone output. Can I reconfigure the TV remote to allow it to manage the relevent functions on the HT-CT260 as my Sky remote was able to do previously for the TV volume? Getting the Sky remote to operate the HT-CT260 volume function as well would be a bonus.

The app TDC-play won't stream to my sa-ns510 with music. Radio works fine. Sony Music Unlimited works fine. The tdc-play used ACC packed in MPEG4 - i cant see in the manual of the SA-NS510 supports that.

So can anyone answer that?

BDV-IZ1000W no sound on DVD but ok with TV/SAT

hi, a puzzling thing with my surround system this morning, the playback on DVD works fine but no sound??? however, the sound works fine on the TV/SAT. any ideas??? this worked fine yesterday, but 3 kids could have pressed anything but i doubt they've got into the settings so this is why i'm posting. i've gone through the settings and cant find anything out of the ordinary. i did use USB in my tv last night to watch a movie, and sometimes I have to change the audio settings in my TV but really this shouldnt affect playback sound surely???

Bravia TV doesn't stay connected to Audio System

I have recently purchase an LG 3D/Bluray 5.1 audio system which works fine as a stand alone blu ray player. However when trying to use the sound system as a hub for all my TV audio I'm having trouble connecting.

I understand that after connecting a HDMI and Digital Optical Cable from the Sound System to my Bravia TV all audio that goes from any system into the TV should now come out of the Sound System?

I enable the audio system by going into the XMB > Settings > Sound > Speakers > Audio System.

The audio system works for about 15 seconds and then an error message pops up: "'TV Speakers active due to audio system commmucation error"

I have connected other devices direct to the sound system using an optical cable and they work fine, which leads me to belive it is the TV that is where my issue is.

My Equipment:

Sony Brava 32" KDL-32EX403

LG 5.1 BH6620S Audio System
