New Sony Vaio vgp-bps22 battery not working

Hello All,

I bought a new VGP-BPS22 sony battery 3500 mah/39 wh and it doesnt seem to be charging. I had exactly same battery before I replaced with the new one.

Funny thing is when i put the new battery first time it charged till 100PERCENTAGESIGN in 1-2 hours of time and then second day onwards it got stuck to max 30PERCENTAGESIGN charging and now its not charging at all(Stuck to 0PERCENTAGESIGN). Another thing which i noted if I uninstall and install 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant control method battery' from device manager battery seem to charge for 10 seconds and then stop again. Same thing happens at the time of system booting..it charges only for 10 seconds and then it stop.

I have reset BIOS and taken out battery/booting/rebooting system couple of times and it doesnt seem to solve my problem.

I am using window 7 ultimate.

Any help would be great!

I shut it down properly last night and then tried to turn back on next morning But it is not turning on. As warranty has expired I opened it and checked if the problem is with power supply but voltmeter shows that it is giving exact power to the motherboard. I tried to plug out RAM but nothing. Any suggestions?

Why can't I access Vaio Care premium tools?

I have been spending the last few hours tearing my hair out because I am trying to update my driver as when I opened World of Warcraft it said my driver needed updating. So I spend all the time getting the driver name and manufacturer, go to their website (AMD), type in my driver, go to download the update and then it says their download thing isn't compatible with Vaios.
So then I open up vaio care to see if I can update it from there (I've already tried to manually update it via device managers and it says I already have the most up to date driver but I still receive this message on World of Warcraft) and then I see some "performance" issues, which to fix it I need the premium tools, so it then leads me to this iolo website where after a serious amount of infuriating attempts I manage to register my product. But when I go back to Vaio Care it just says the same thing and leads me back to the iolo website so I really just don't know what to do.
Can somebody please help me?

But I regret not paying the extra money to get a SSD harddrive in it and I went with the 5400rp instead. So my question to you is have easy/hard is it to replace the current harddrive with and SSD or is it just impossible/ should get a professional to do it. Or if you think it's just not worth it. Please write below.

Many thanks

boork93

Ps: The exact model is SV-S13A1C5E

E Series vs T Series question

I can't decide whether to go for the sony Vaio E series or T Series and would like to ask a few questions.

I'm wanting a touchscreen laptop for work and narrowed it down to the E Series 14P, and T series 13. I like things to feel quality and so would like to know what material each laptop is made from? I understand that the outer lid of the E series is aluminium but is the rest of the computer plastic? Is the entire T series laptop metal, if so which metal? I have a Macbook Pro at home and love how the whole thing is made from metal.

The downside to the T series is the screen resolution, as it's only 1366 x 768, whereas you can upgrade the E series to 1600 x 900. How bad is the 1366 x 768 display?

Finally, do they have user replaceable hard drives and RAM, so I can upgrae to a SSD at a later date?

Price wise, by the time I've spec'd them up they are a similar price

TIA

Message was edited by: Snerkler

HELP! Driver powere state failure

Hi!

I recently bought a Sony vaio ultrabook (model no. SVT1313M1ES), bearing in mind that the laptop is no more than a month old it has a tendency to crash during restart and go to a blue screen that suggests it has run into a problem: Drive power state failure.

To give you a better idea of what's going on , I only use the laptop at the moment for browsing the web, watching films and catchup TV and looking at photos (so nothing to taxing) . However my laptop has real trouble finding a network and Internet connection sometimes when it is first booted up (hence the frequent restarts) it says there are networks available but won't always connect so I restart the laptop once or twice and it then connects but not always for long ( the Internet in my house is temperamental at times but we have had that checked ad there is nothing wrong with it).

Because this problem tends to happen when I am restarting in hope I connect to the Internet second time round I figured they might be linked!

Please help I don't want to have to take it back and go through another ordeal with PC world as they are useless!!

Laura x

I have both of the above laptops which I've had for a while and they worked brilliantly. Recently I've had to replace both of the hard drives but I'm now stuck as to how to re-install Windows XP using the OEM code on the sticker on the base of the laptops. The version of Windows is XP Professional Sony Corporation - can anyone kindly point me to a link so I can download Windows XP Professional which will allow me to use my license code on the Windows sticker?

Many many thanks in advance.

Martin

Sony Vaio Duo 11 - Touch Screen stopped working

Hiya,

i have a brand new Sony Vaio Duo 11 hybrid laptop / tablet. It is now a couple of months old.

When i first started using it, the touchscreen went, so i used the Win 8 heal funtion to refresh the system which left the docs intact.

Now i have had the device a while and installed lots and am enjoying it. So much that i was going to use instead of main pc today. So i plugged my mouse in, sat back, loaded a game and noticed that the touch screen no longer responded.

I checked "my computer" and it says "Pen and Touch : No pen or Touch Input is available for this display"

This is a Windows 8 Pro 64bit OS with Intel i5 processor.

Model :SVD112A1SM

I cannot find this model within the support area of the Sony site, let alone any drivers.

The Sony Vaio care only has listed WLan , NFC, Wireless Display Drivers listed for updates.

I know this device has touch screen i was using it even all day yesterday.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! vaio SVE1712c5e

I recently purchased a new Vaio SVE1712c5e through the Sony Vaio website.

Firstly the touch pad is absolutely useless! Sony have tried to make the touch pad look like an Apple Mac, and it just does not work! When trying to right click 8 times out of 10 it will left click no matter how much you try to click in the far bottom right corner! (I have adjuted the touch pad settings with no luck) Also the touch pad will randomly click on links that you hover over. Its a waste of time!

Having typed the model number of the laptop in to Google I have seen pages upon pages of people complaining of the same problem.

Second problem is the webcam has never worked! I have tried removing the drivers and re-installing latest drivers etc etc etc. It just does not work.

Third, The speakers on this laptop are useless, in fact I would go as far to say they are ear piercing! Very high pitched with no depth what so ever! Again, Useless!

4th, Having paid extra for the best screen Sony offered, the screen is terrible. you have to adjust the angle of the screen to be exactly in front of you or it appears too dark and if more than 1 person wants to watch a film on it you have no chance!

This laptop was around £900 and I purchased it to replace my 6 year old A'Series Sony Vaio. My old laptop was far superior in every way to this new laptop, the screen was far better, the speakers were amazing, the touchpad was faultless. Unfortunately it develloped the notorious Nvidia chip fault and Sony refused to repair it even though it was a manufacturing defect!

I wish I had not purchased another Sony Vaio now, because even though this laptop is only a few months old I have been unable to contact SONY support. Their email form on the website has not worked for over 6 months! (but it only tells you it doesn't work until after you have typed out your lengthy message!!)

I refuse to call the premium rate telephone number as this laptop is under guarantee!! I should not have to pay to get support!

The sales phone line will not help and they tell me to call the premium rate number!

I am unable to find a postal address to write to Sony Viao (yes it has come to snail mail!)

My next step is to go to trading standards and possibly take legal action.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? any suggestions or a postal address at least I can write to?

Thanks.

The laptop could not boot to Windows 8 anymore, only to a blank screen.

I contacted Sony service and they adviced to perform a hardware test from the VAIO recovery environment. To my strong objection that this would not help solve my problem, they just replied that this is standard procedure: client should wipe out everything and start over. Anyway, I had no option than to do the recovery, which also went through with no problem. The service reply was obviously: "Your problem has been solved. Contact us again if you experience problems in the future."

I sitting now in front of my laptop, with its Windows 8 start screen full of blinking and changing icons as it is when you start it for the first time, and I am thinking, what should I do?

Start again the painfull work of bringing Windows 8 to a state that I can do my work? or wipe everything out of the hard disk and put on a different OS?
