Just a quick update on NEW, yes new software, this is not an update it is brand new and was implimented for the new Reader, however it is ready for everyone including Mac 64-bit users, please visit link below;

BDP-S185 ghosting with HD output

Hi is the ghosting in purple, if so you will need to contact a service agent for an update, the HDMI systems have changed a lot since the launch of this set and a modification needs to be done by an engineer, no parts are required, but they need to change some settings in the service menu.

UK Reader Store - Opening Spring!

we have contacted all registered owners about the Store, we are very aware of the Dealers information provided, however this did not come from Sony, the Store is due in the Spring, as long as all the security and interface issues cane be resolved, the biggest issue for the UK is the store is a European platform and need to work everywhere before it can be launched, we want to get it right at launch.

Hi if no code is listed please contact Customer Information on 0844 8466 555 they will require the WIRED Mac Address to check if your product is listed already, you can get this by running the wired network setup, no need to connect a cable though.

Could someone add a comment to this thread, the reported ni internet only appears when they run the network test, it is a bug that has always been there and is not a fault, if they find internet services are not working like gracenote then by all means raise that as an issue, there is no fault and no updated have ever been carried out to there products, anyone still having the Blue light issue need to hard reset, if it still has the issue once running again, they have developed a fault and is unrelated to the issue raise in Oct/Nov 2011, it will require service.

it is worth advising the Reader Store is not a requirement to buy books, when it launches it will simplify the process, but due to unforeseen issues it has been delayed and we are looking to move forward as quickly as possible.

Could we please post a response to this one please, we are not aware of any issue, however we have only returned to work today, can we have all the user do a hard reset and if this does not resolve the issue, see if any know the firmware version they had, we would also need to know what transmitter they recieve and when this started.

unfortunately IR signals are not one direction, they can bounce all over the house, only closing a door to the other room would prevent this from happening

Hi, I am not aware of any software problem that would cause this, can only advise they uninstall the software and any previous editions, look for any files or folders that are left behind and delete them, and then do a clean install, there has to be a currupt file causing the issue, as for the 100 books in the same thread, this has been updated as the original LFR files could not be used on the T1, these have been changed to ePub format

The Engineers can only go by the facts presented to them on the product, screens can not break on there own, there has to be some form of impact to the case or the screen for it to happen, this is classed as accidental damage and is not covered by the warranty, the service engineer will be able to provide information as to why it is damage and not a screen failure, there is a difference and can be easily shown to the customer, where are they living? we could take a look at if in the UK for a second opinion if they like.

General repairs should be 5 working days if sent to Sony Central Service direct, this can take longer if going via a local service centre, but if they still have an issue, request they call our help line, so we can investigate what has gone wrong

there are times when a panel or repair may have slight differences in appearance, but as every panel is different the service agent will check that any issues are within Specification, this may not always be to the users liking. but given the nature of LCD they are not perfect and there has to be a tolerance to allow for this, ie in Spec means not a fault, but part of the characteristic

Hi davidratcliffe, the red button issue is resolved with the latest firmware and we hope will not happen again, as far as iPlayer is concerned, could you please raise this directly with the BT forums and their customer support, we have tested the issue and so far have not been able to reproduce your problem, however after looking at there forums and communicating with others, there is a lot of noise now about this service and others not working since customers have switched to Infinity, it does not appear to be a wide spread issue, just some connections, which will make it a little more difficult to advise, however if you check your Widgets on the TV they should be working ok, which will give peace of mind that the TV is not faulty, it just appears to be a routing issue from your IP to the iPlayer servers .

Hi Sony has just changed all the downloads, the zip files now contain ePub files, if you have not got a link on your My Products page under your PRS-T1, this should be active by the end of the week, if you have an older model listed they have been up dated.

This set in should not be in this forum, the issue is completely different to those raised here, all the images are from a PS3, can we request images from notmal viewing, also if the unit is uder 3 years of age can we request they write in with proof of purchase and an estimate as previously advised on this same thread. The X4500 series is not like normal LCD models and the effect does not look normal.

Sorry we have not offered much, if any comment on this issue so far. To be honest we should have been more active on this, if only to let you know that we have been looking into it

We have been keeping an eye on this and many other forum threads however, taking notes and making sure all of the feedback you have provided is passed onto the design team in Tokyo.

At this time we are still waiting on a more definitive fix, however, while that is still being looked into, we will hopefully be able to provide a more viable 'workaround' for you by either the end of today or Monday at the very latest.

With this in mind, watch this space.
